Mr. Eugene Bachurin visited Voronezh Joint Stock Aircraft Manufacturing Enterprise

May 29, 2009 Mr. Eugene Bachurin, Director General of Atlant-Soyuz, Airline of the Moscow Government, visited Voronezh Joint Stock Aircraft Manufacturing Enterprise (hereafter referred to as “VASO”)
The delegation consisted of Mr. Vasiliy Kichedgy, Head of Transport and Communications Department of the Moscow Government, and Mr. Alexandr Rubtsov, Member of Board, Joint Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation (hereunder referred to as “OAK”) as well.
The primary goal of the visit implied familiarization with technologies of manufacturing the Russian A/C type AN-148, as well as discussion of perspectives for Russian aircraft delivery to Atlant-Soyuz Airline. This time the Airline’s strategy being developed, Mr. Yuri Luzhkov, the Mayor of the Moscow City, and the Moscow Government, based on the declaration about the strategic importance of Russian aircraft manufacturing segment made by Mr. Dmitriy Anatolievich Medvedev, President of the Russian Federation and Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Chairman of the Moscow Government of the Russian Federation, directed the new managing board of the Airline to set its primary goal on flight operation of aircraft manufactured in Russia. In accordance with the results of the review of Voronezh Joint Stock Aircraft Manufacturing Enterprise, i.e. VASO, Mr. Eugene Bachurin declared that the Airline reviews the perspective of purchasing aircraft produced in Russia along with the Moscow Government, in particular A/C AN-148, TU-154 SM, as well as a promising aircraft MC-21, now being developed. It is Director General’s opinion that these aircraft correspond to the most up-to-date requirements to airplanes. “Modern avionics, highest cost effectiveness and passenger comfort – these are the main requirements to production of aviation industry today, which we may observe on A/C AN-148 implying all these characteristics,” Mr. Bachurin noted. The memorandum of regional A/C AN-148 and short-to-medium range TU-204 SM delivery shall be presented to Mr. Yuri Luzhkov, Mayor of the Moscow City, within the nearest time. In case it is approved, it is expected that this memorandum will be executed in June 2009. |
