Animals transporting

With the exception of guide dogs accompanying passengers with vision loss, animals and birds are not permitted to be carried in the cabin.

An animal (or bird) being transported by air must be put in a packing container (or a cage or basket) large enough to give it access to air and fitted with a strong lock. The bottom of the container (or cage or basket) must be watertight and lined with absorbent material, and must have a board around its perimeter to stop the absorbent material from leaking. Bird cages must be covered with a thick, light-proof cloth.

The free baggage allowance does not extend to animals and birds. The transportation of an animal (or bird) is paid for at the excess baggage rate, and worked out from the actual weight of the animal (or bird) plus its container (or cage).
