History

Atlant-Soyuz Airline was registered on June 8, 1993 (Aircraft Operator Certificate No. 184). As in case with many Russian air companies, the first line of its business became charter cargo operations to/from countries of Southeast Asia, Chinese People's Republic and United Arab Emirates.

Since mid 90s of the 20th century, the company has become an active participant of peace-keeping missions of the United Nations and has been executing macro contracts for the Red Cross.

Within the same period of time the company initiates VIP-service and develops the first scheduled passenger air lines.

In may, 1999 "Atlant – Soyuz" Airline became an official air carrier of the Moscow City Government and was entitled to use the Moscow Coat of Arms and other symbols of the Russian Capital on board of its fleet. By the beginning of 2000 "Atlant - Soyuz" Airline has become an active operator on most popular tourist directions, such as Turkey, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Italy, etc.

In 2002 the airline was awarded with the National aviation premium "Wings of Russia - 2001". The airline became prize winner in the nomination "Air Company of year - cargo carrier on domestic and international air lines", and was also granted with the Moscow Government Diploma "For high quality of service and increase in volumes of transportation in 2001".

In June 2005 Board of directors and shareholders of the airline approved a strategic plan for development of the company until 2010, having outlined the key objective to enter the TOP FIVE of the leaders in sales volume among the Russian airlines.

In 2005 the airline became prize winner of the National aviation premium "Wings of Russia" in the nomination "Air Company of year – passenger carrier on international air lines, group II" and laureate in the nomination "Air Company of year - cargo carrier on domestic and international air lines".

In 2006 "Atlant - Soyuz" became laureate of the "Wings of Russia" premium in the nomination "Air Company of year – passenger carrier on international air lines (volume of transportation over 1 mlrd. passenger-kilometers).

The airline’s management made a decision to extend the current fleet. There were formed passenger and cargo service project group "Embraer-120".

Within development of passenger service Atlant-Soyuz executed a purchase contract for 12 thirty-seat aircraft of Brazilian manufactory Embraer-120, one of the most prosperous international projects in regional aviation. In August 2007 at MAKS both experts and publicity could estimate all advantages of this aircraft.

To further expand the route network and fully satisfy the customers the Airline has placed an order for four new B 737-800 NG aircraft. Atlant-Souyz and the Boeing Company announced the deal on August 23, 2009 at MAKS 2009 International Air Show. Apart from this deal the Airline has signed a contract for six B 737-800 NGs three of which have been already added to Atlant-Soyuz’s aircraft fleet. The age of aircraft (between 5 and 7 years) ensures their high efficiency and reliability. From the standpoint of technology the B737-800 NGs are the most advanced among today’s narrow - body aircraft.

At the same MAKS 2009 Air Show, on August 20, 2009 the Airline of the City of Moscow –Atlant-Soyuz, and JSC Ilyushins Finance Co. signed a financial lease agreement for 45 Russian made aircraft. Under this agreement Antlant-Soyuz will get 30 regional An 148 and 15 medium-haul Tu 204 CM passenger aircraft.

15 An148-100Es will be delivered to Atlant-Soyuz in 2010-2011. Another 10 extended An148-200s will be delivered to the Airline in 2012. The above aircraft will have a 3 compartment configuration – Business, Improved Economy and Economy. Total seating capacity of An148-100E is 68 seats, Flight range is 4400 km. The extended An 148-200 can accommodate up to 82 passengers. The aircraft are manufactured by Voronezh Aircraft Production Association (VASO).

Two VIP An 148 ABJs and three business An 148 ABJs (business class configuration only) are to be delivered in 2011-2012. Atlant-Soyuz is a professional player on VIP air transportation market and has one business Tu 154M aircraft in its fleet. This plane is best suited both for business travel and corporate recreation. Like Tu 154M new An 148s will be equipped with everything that is required for efficient work and relaxation while in flight. Excellent level of service will allow to satisfy the most demanding customer.

Thus it is expected that the delivery of all An 148s will be completed within three years – from 2010 to 2012.

The Tu 204CM aircraft are scheduled to enter into service within two years: 8 aircraft in 2011 and 7 aircraft in 2012. The Tu 204CM will also be delivered to the Airline in 3 compartment configuration. The Tu 204CM is the latest model of the certified Tu 204 manufactured by Aviastar-SP at the aircraft plant in Ulyanovsk. The seating capacity is 166 seats, flight range is 4000 km.

An 148 and Tu 204 CM aircraft are in compliance with international environmental requirements and have no restrictions for flights to any country of the world. Aircraft systems commonality allows to considerably minimize the operational costs.

Aircraft fuel efficiency will enable to continue with the flexible fare policy. Diversity of the Airline’s aircraft equipment will significantly increase the range of services offered and meet the requirements of any passenger.
